Founded in 1989 by Mr. Sudath Tennakoon, Central Bearings & Machinery Pvt Ltd embarked on its business journey within a modest shophouse nestled in Colombo, Sri Lanka. From our humble origins to our current position as the premier supplier of Bearings & Machinery-related equipment in the region, Central Bearings & Machinery (Pvt) Ltd has made remarkable strides since its inception.

History & Milestones

2024

In a remarkable move, CBM expanded its operations further, relocating to the newly constructed Engineering Services and Warehouse Complex in Katunayake, Sri Lanka. This move quadrupled the company's warehouse storage capacity and provided a custom Engineering Services workshop, setting the stage for continued growth and success.
2016

CBM ventured into the Engineering Services sector, launching its Industrial and Engineering Services division. This expansion was marked by a committed team comprising professional Engineers and highly skilled Technicians.
2014

CBM marked another significant milestone by opening a second building, featuring a state-of-the-art Distribution Centre and office space to accommodate its dedicated team of 70 employees, primarily serving the Industrial Division.
2005

CBM's growth led to the inauguration of its current headquarters, equipped with cutting-edge facilities to enhance the experience for both employees and customers. The company also rebranded as Central Bearings & Machinery (Pvt) Ltd.
1996

The company evolved and officially became Central Bearings (Pvt) Ltd.
1989

CBM, originally named Central Bearings Lanka Enterprises, was established in Colombo, Sri Lanka, with just four dedicated individuals on its team.
